When we planned a move back to my hometown for the summer of 2018, we weren’t ready to make a school decision for the boys. I knew there were great online school options where we could direct the educational process for them, but have others be their teachers. One of our intentions with going in this direction for the middle school years was a heart felt desire to “slow time down.” Of course we didn’t actually slow it down, but as I reflect back on the past 2 years of online schooling at home with the boys, I’ve had a sense of more presence and the days seeming longer – possibly because we are together ALL the time.
I recently finally sent my black and white film off to be developed and it struck me that these photographs from over the past 2 years represent time at a slower pace. I will take that with me.
